It’s been nearly a whole year, since we all have been made aware of and lived with the coronavirus pandemic. I know it has been very hard for all of us, but many children are finding it a lot more difficult to cope and understand the Covid-19 virus. With many children asking questions like: “Why can’t I see my friends and play with them?”, “Why do we have to do school work at home?” or “Why can’t we go to the cinema?”.

Trust me you are not alone!

Though I’ve a master’s degree in Infection and Immunity, which specializes in Immunology and Medical Microbiology (that includes the study of viruses), I was still struggling to explain the coronavirus to my little 7-year-old daughter in a way for her to fully understand it.

Thankfully, the children’s publisher Nosy Crow has teamed up with the famous The Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler, Professor Graham Medley of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicne, a child psychologist and 2 head teachers to create a free and amazing e-book to educate primary school age kids about the coronavirus in a fun and easy to understand way.

The topics that the free coronavirus e-book covers includes:

What is the coronavirus?

How do you catch the coronavirus?

What happens if you catch the coronavirus?

Why are people worries about catching the coronavirus?

Is there a cure for the coronavirus?

Why are some places we normally go to closed?

What can I do to help?

What’s going to happen next?

Where can I get the free Coronavirus a book for children about Covis-19?

You can download the PDF for free here.

Or listen to the audio book on the Nosy Crow website or Soundcloud.

If you do prefer the paper version of this book, it’s available on Amazon for £1.99.

My thoughts on this children’s Coronavirus book

I found this free book onCovid-19 very informative; it explains the virus and the current situation very well to children. My girl Yas, enjoyed this book as much as The Gruffalo books that are also illustrated by Axle Scheffler.

I’ve read this book to my daughter a while ago before, she found it very reassuring and interesting. I’ll be reading this book to Yasmin again today, to remind her about the importance of washing hands and why it is so important to stay safe. I strongly believe that this book has helped with my daughters mental and physical wellbeing.

I’m very grateful that Nosy Crow has created such a wonderful book to explain coronavirus for free to help all our children!

Please do share this with anyone you know that has kids or grandchildren

Thank you Hayley! I’m glad that you like this article. Oh what is she analyzing if you don’t mind me asking? Is she researching viruses or looking for children’s books on the coronavirus? x
